Hi momof4, great cauliflower picture on your blog, how beautiful! Ours don't seem to get that big up here in Alberta! Well, here I believe the insurance issue would be dependent upon the market, some markets may indeed require it here, but it wouldn't be provincially legislated. We DO need to have a commercial kitchen here in Alberta though. I definitely recommend checking with your specific State departments.

What do you do for a family business? We're always curious to hear about what others are doing!

That is really neat! Now if we could just get some cukes before the nematodes do.
My question is this: Do you have to do anything for state ag. dept. ? Here we are not allowed to sell our cookie mixes (all dry).At city markets (farmer style) they require any type of food vendors to carry $500,000 in insurance. As we understand it, we have a to have a seperate perperation space or commericial kitchen. We have been wanting expand and do something like this. Any info or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for visiting Niki :). I have to add that this relish is yellow :), I forgot to mention that in my post! It is quite yellow, with the yummy vegetable base, so it's very unique!

I have to keep this recipe. I made relish last year and my hubby said it was better than anything we ever bought. It is a little work but well worth the effort. Great idea for a business though.
