Funky Glasses, Low Prices
Maybe you haven’t noticed yet, but the internet has placed a huge number of purchasing options out there for those of us who wear prescription lenses. Previously shackled to the local eyeglasses office, we now have a plethora of choices available to purchase from online. These options are shockingly affordable to those of us accustomed to purchasing eyeglasses for $200 – $300/pair. An $8 – $50 pair of eyeglasses almost seems unimaginable, but it’s not. By selling their designs directly to the consumer, they are cutting out the middle man and passing on the savings. My toddler has seriously mauled my glasses several times, and luckily most times they’ve been under warranty, but the last time I paid $50 to have an arm on my frame replaced that she had, ahem, removed for me. The next time I buy glasses I’m trying a cheaper option, that way when my toddler tries to bring them to me, the cost won’t be so high, even if the damage is disastrous.
