Blog Tour: Shade by John Olson
I told you it would be a busy few days here! I’m thrilled to join CSFF in touring Shade by John Olson this week. I’ve read and reviewed this one already, but so as not to swamp everyone with posts in one day, I’ve got my review coming to you either tomorrow or the next day, depending upon the post load. How’s that for precise
.
Now, this one is often referred to as a Christian vampire novel, but it’s not precisely that. It does fall squarely within the Christian paranormal suspense genre – how’s that for a tag? It’s a great read, and I know a few of my readers would be sure to enjoy it!
So while you’re waiting you can visit my review of Fossil Hunter another of John Olson’s novels. I can tell you that I like this one 10 times better! I was a bit hesitant to tour Shade, I read the first chapter elsewhere and it scared the snot out of me! But I’m glad I did.
If you’re looking to do some web surfing you can find John online here.

Great intro. You were really that scared by the first chapter? I guess I was expecting it to be scary and was relieved that I didn’t find it unbearable.
Looking forward to your review.

Rebecca LuElla Millers last blog post..Shade – November CSFF Tour, Day 2
Hi Becky,
I read the first chapter before I received the novel or joined the CSFF tour when it was touring with another group (I wasn’t participating). The first chapter freaked me right out! That was one of the reasons I wasn’t sure if I wanted to review this title, I didn’t know what was going on!
In any case, overall I didn’t find the book ‘scary’ in the traditional sense of the word, but very intriguing. I enjoyed it
.
I was freaked within the first few pages but that also meant I had to read the rest of the book hoping to get past the “freaked out” point by the end. In my case even after finishing the book today I am still freaked by some of the implications in our own encounters with the spiritual realm and the warfare betwixt good and evil that occurs on a daily basis.
Regardless this was very well written and I plan to get some sleep as soon as the residual effects of my semi-paranoid tendencies triggered by this book wear off.
