I was freaked within the first few pages but that also meant I had to read the rest of the book hoping to get past the "freaked out" point by the end. In my case even after finishing the book today I am still freaked by some of the implications in our own encounters with the spiritual realm and the warfare betwixt good and evil that occurs on a daily basis.

Regardless this was very well written and I plan to get some sleep as soon as the residual effects of my semi-paranoid tendencies triggered by this book wear off.

Hi Becky,

I read the first chapter before I received the novel or joined the CSFF tour when it was touring with another group (I wasn't participating). The first chapter freaked me right out! That was one of the reasons I wasn't sure if I wanted to review this title, I didn't know what was going on!

In any case, overall I didn't find the book 'scary' in the traditional sense of the word, but very intriguing. I enjoyed it :).

Great intro. You were really that scared by the first chapter? I guess I was expecting it to be scary and was relieved that I didn't find it unbearable.

Looking forward to your review.

Becky
