This is absolutely my most favourite carrier for newborns on up to toddlers from a comfortable front carry. Just read your comment on Chelsea’s blog. It looks to me like it’s just fabric. How is this $40 better spent than just $3/yard jersey fabric? I don’t get it, but I’m interested.
Gingers last blog post..Easy Listening
Well Ginger, that’s a good question. I don’t know if I have a definitive answer but here are my thoughts. With my first daughter I made two ring slings before her birth, never having owned one personally. When she came, it turned out they were non-functional. The fabric was FAR too thick to adjust easily in the rings, but what did I know? I’d never used one before. I feel the same way about Sleepy Wraps, there are a few differences that make it unique, and not just a big piece of fabric, but basically it is that.
However, it’s all in the fabric. I really doubt that $3/yard jersey fabric would be as supportive as this is. It’s more of a french jersey if that makes sense, it’s not cheap t-shirt fabric, or a standard cotton knit, it’s very structured, huggable, stretchy and immensely supportive. Of course, I don’t know the fabric you’re specifically referring to, and it may be possible to find a good fabric for a wrap in the fabric store – but for me, I’m willing to spring for it because I KNOW it will work. Hope this helps a bit!
Excellent work! Thanks admin.
