We have LOVED our Sleepy Wrap for our bundle, however I am expecting his little brother soon so it is no longer comfy to strap him on. I would like to get the BOBA for big brother. How comfortable would you imagine it would be to carry a 25# 1 yr old on the back in the BOBA and the newborn in the sleepy wrap in the front? Would the BOBA straps interfere with newborns comfort? Thanks so much for reviewing these for us!!

Hmm, I'm actually not a huge fan of the hip hold, only for older children and only for short jaunts. It feels more unbalanced, because you have a LOT of weight on one side :). I don't side hold with my ergo or my boba :). I normally only use a hip riding position with a stretchy sling for short rides :).

Hi! I too am wondering about Boba vs Ergo for my 9 month old. I was disappointed to find out the boba doesnt allow a side-hold, but I don't know if that hold is actually that useful....any comment on that? thanks!

Thank you!
I actually did contact the Boba people and wanted you to know that they no longer go by the age restriction (even though descriptions of the 2G's still include it..) and the only restriction to be concerned with is the weight restriction. Looking forward to getting a Boba now! :)

Thanks for coming by Bibi.

Hmm, my first thought is that shorter children won't be able to reach the foot straps and use them for the ideal hip alignment. It's still much better than a Bjorn though because of the deep seat.

Maybe email the Boba folks themselves and see why the age restriction?

Hi,
My daughter is 6 mos old but over 16 lbs so she's within the weight range for the Boba, but everything has it listed for 1-4 yr olds. I want an SSC to replace my Baby Bjorn because I want to make sure she is in a good position for her hips/spine, and using the Moby Wrap for errands and going out and about hasn't worked as well for me.
I know I want a Boba but hate to have to wait 6 months and have to spend money on something else to fill that gap in the meantime.
Do you know any reason for the 1yr min age, especially if the baby is within the weight range?
Thank you!
I really enjoyed reading your review....

Hi Patricia,

I'm not sure, you'll have to try it out online! The codes are all managed by the website owners not me, so give it a try and see what happens!

What I didn't like are that the foot straps only work with taller babies/toddlers. Also, if you have some mommy flab on the front the strap can dig in with a heavier child in the back carrying position.
