Hi Michele,

I’ve never used the Beco myself, so I can’t offer any comparisons. I can point out though that the Boba isn’t for newborns, it’s for older children, say 1 – 4 .

I just noticed that I put the wrong neme for the carrier down. Yours is called the Boba and I said Beco. Wow! So many choices. Any comments on the differences between the Beco and the Boba?

Hello Quiver Mamma,

I used the Ergo with my 4th child and loved it compared to the over-the-shouler slings, much more comfortable. But now I’m shopping for another carrier to have an extra one for the car. My question after reading your nice Beco review is this: does the Beco, since it holds the baby closer to the mother’s body, cause any hyper-extension of the baby’s neck, especially with the newborn?

Hi Julie,

This carrier is like most other soft-structured carries in terms of adjustments. I always have a HARD time adjusting the shoulder straps, but the waist band is a cinch. I haven’t found an easier style to adjust though!

Laura – I don’t think I could EVER buy a frame carrier, they just seem so BIG and BULKY! The Boba is great though! Very secure .

I am going hiking soon and I need a back carrier for my almost 1 year old. We might only go on a big hiking vaca once or twice a year so I am trying not to buy a big frame carrier that won’t get used often. Do you have any suggestions on what might be our best choice?

Im looking to order a baby carrier for our youngest, I year.
I had borrowed a Beco and this looks to be the closest match I found, quite by accident. As I am small and my husband is very tall I need a carrier that will fit us both well and be able to change, me or him, mid activity. Does this carrier adjust well?

Hi Amber, I mentioned the main points in my review, but forgot to mention that the NEW ergo’s actually DON’t have the fabric strap under the webbing, only the old style had that. We have an old one, and a new one, but I am most familiar with the older style of Ergo.

If you have anything specific you’re looking for, let me know and I can check. I did find that the foam shoulder straps are a bit more ‘tailored’ on the Boba. The higher back fabric really cinches the deal for me, because I NEED an extremely secure back carry position to be able to stand up straight. If baby is leaning out at all I lean forward to compensate.

Hi Anna,

I’m recommending the Boba generally speaking – the hold is tighter and snugger than I’ve been able to achieve with the Ergo, my baby is snugged right up against me, and I love it!

Desiree – how heavy is your baby? I’m probably right on the border between regular and plus sizes, and I only find it uncomfy in the back carry with my 3 year old, and she’s around 30 – 35 lbs. With my 20 lb. 15 month old I don’t have discomfort from the webbing on the stomach .
