Hi Rachel,

It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea :) - I'm sure as an example, that many would be unsettled by the allegorical depiction of drinking Jesus' actual blood in the conversion scene!

I've found the series intriguing so far, and I'm interested to see how Wilson wraps everything up.

I really enjoyed your review of the first book in the series. I haven't been able to afford either of the books but the premise sounds intriguing. I really love vampire novels, except the ones with too many boring sex scenes.

I appreciate the creativity and skill that went into bringing such an original story together; however, though I understand Wilson was laying a lot of groundwork in the first novel, I probably wouldn't have finished the book if I hadn't already agreed to do this tour. I was interested in seeing how various elements would come together, but I was also bored plenty of the time, and actually skipped pages where the Collectors stood around talking. However, the second book did pick up the pace, and I like it much better.

You gave an excellent and thorough review, and I'd like to read what you have to say about the second book.

Jennifer, this is a great review! My own feelings about "Haunt of Jackals" were mostly negative, but you've made some great points here.
