Success!

Whew, it’s been a BUSY 24 hours! We had a very, very short spell of flu. Kaelynn was violently ill, I was nearly so, and it was all over within 12 hours. This morning we were busy cleaning, our homeschool facilitator arrived, was here for an hour – and was back on her way!

She was so friendly, and very nonintrusive, the children loved her and had so much fun visiting with her. Rosie recited a poem, Kaelynn read one of her readers and showed off her knitting (all without prompting – they wanted to strut their stuff!) So, folks in Alberta – if you’re looking for an encouraging hands-off, traditional-only, supportive of normal homeschool lifestyles etc. school board, check out Education Unlimited – pretty bare bones, but incredibly respecting of parental sovereignty.

I was feeling a bit nervous about the visit, since this is our first year ‘officially’ homeschooling and our first in-person encounter with a facilitator, but everything went smoothly and our girls are already looking forward to the next visit in the Spring.
