Making Our Own Lotion

I’ve been researching making lotion for my eczema prone daughter, and I have to say – there’s a bit of a learning curve here.  Right now I’m just learning about ingredients, but the one that is currently working for her is a type of silicone/herbal extracts shielding lotion, and if I can just figure out this whole silicone thing I’m sure I can whip something up for her that will cost less than $19 for 4 oz.

Have any of you tried to make your own lotions for children with skin issues?  Any successes or recipes that you’d like to share with me?  I HAVE found a supplier of silicones in Canada, which is pretty much the first step for us, because some of them have a low flash-point, they’d have to go UPS, and we all know how expensive that brokerage is!!!

Welcome!
