I know some basic html and with the help of some website designing programs, I designed our first couple of web pages by myself. However, graphics aren’t really my specialty, and I’ve since found that web design is well worth the cost of services rendered.
I’ve paid for design work on several of our blogs and websites, and it has been SO worth it in the long run. The final result is so polished, pulled together, and just has a different feel than the blocky, side by side graphic arrangements that I can manage. With websites incorporating far more css and php these days, a designer is even more important because I know almost nothing about scripting.
Whether personally blogging or putting together a business website, I can attest that professional web design services are worth it!

Our new family website, Bogart Family Resources, has been up and running for, oh a good half-year now, but still it isn’t being indexed by Google for “Bogart Family Resources” anywhere on the first 4 pages of Google’s search results!
Our facebook page shows up, our CurrClick titles, blog reviews about us, even my writer’s profiles on other pages, mentions I make here, but not our own page! Hmm, I guess that’s why people hire seo company’s! Hopefully patience will get us somewhere in the meanwhile though

I just wanted to write a quick post to our blog readers who are newly subscribed – thanks for joining us!
Today I’ve been catching up with some posts that have been in the pile for a few days, so I apologize for the large influx of the written word in your blog feeder or email inbox today!
Normally I have one to two posts per day, one of which is generally a book review
. I hope the rapid posting today isn’t off-putting, and I hope you enjoy your visits here!

Once again we’ve been without internet for around a week or so, so I’ve again dumped my spam folder – sorry to any legitimate commenters (664 spam comments in there!) Thank the Lord for Akismet!
We’re at home picking up some more supplies and I’m checking email, but then it’s back into the void, for who knows how long! Thanks for hanging in there!
I know I’m late on a few things, and I appreciate your patience!

The only way I can access internet is when my laptop is in my in-laws bedroom, so blogging time has been hard to come by.
As a result my spam folder had over 600 comments in it – if one was yours, I apologize, please comment again! I had to delete it all in one go, I just don’t have the time to skim 34 pages of spam to pick out legitimate comments tonight
.
God bless you all, and thanks for continuing to read despite the lack of recent posts!

Well, our family has taken a detour this week! We planned to come pick up the snowblower from Larry’s parents and then leave, but we’ve been recruited to help out here! There were a few scary days with no internet access – but I’m now hooked up to Larry’s sister’s wireless router – it reaches over here – yay! God bless her for sharing her connection with me!
I have been doing a lot of playing with the children and reading, working on some copywork books etc. Now I have a bit of blogging to catch up on!

I’ve never taken advantage of guest posts, or free content articles on this blog. I write most of what you read here myself, with the exception of canned blog tour posts, and the rare guest spot or interview with an author.
Some bloggers do like to mix things up a bit, or take an editorial approach to blogging – if you’re one, there’s a site you might want to check out that features free home and family articles. Many of them seemed geared towards home renovations, and decorating – not really my thing, but there are certainly blogs that focus on these areas.

Hello faithful readers! I know you’re out there even though you are largely silent (my stats tell me from 230 – 270 unique visitors daily)
. So to the silent masses, what do you like reading here the most? As sole writer of this blog I have ultimate control over my content…BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
But seriously…what blend of content turns your crank? Family photos? Farm updates? Book reviews? Educational DVD reviews? Music reviews? Giveaways? Children’s books? Adult fiction and non-fiction books? Homeschooling reviews? News from our homeschooling adventures? Reviews for family-friendly products?
I try to keep things somewhat balanced, though I always feel like I should include more photos, but I have the notion that people prefer adult-oriented reviews, and so I just sprinkle reviews for children’s titles in lightly. Still… I wonder, most of us are moms, should I be going for a 50/50 blend?
Here’s your chance to weigh in informally, hit me with your best shot!

A blog is a multi-layered beast; there are the posts, the comments and reader interaction, and then there are the conversationsthat take place by email – the blog serving as a catalyst or introduction. Requests for book and homeschooling resource recommendations, chatting, prayer requests, calls for advice – they all make bogging seem more real, as though it is touching lives instead of heading out into the world-wide-void.
If you’d like to contact me, please feel free – you can use the form on the Contact page in the top navigation bar, or send me an email to jennifer at quiverfullfamily dot com. It might take me a little while to get back to you (in cases where I need to pray before responding, or if your email is buried in my inbox!) but I do love to hear from you all!
Thanks for reading!

You may have noticed that the blog’s been looking a bit…off lately. Thankfully the originally designer Cathy Tibbles is at work on it tonight! Hang in there and she should be all fixed up in a few days, tops! When Cathy designed this custom blog she was working out of Healing Designs (I have her button in my right sidebar), but now she’s a partner at Desperately Seeking Wordpress. I highly recommend her work! Thanks Cathy!
